ä Kennedy Catholic 39, Reynolds 27 — At Transfer, the visiting Lady Golden Eagles eased to the season-opening road win, despite Reynolds’ Jill Siege, who bucketed a game-high 20 points.

For Kennedy (1-0), Rachel Burns’ 9-point, 6-steal outing and Victoria Harrison’s 9-point, 6-rebound line, as well as Alex Ricketts’ dozen points, paced coach Tom Burns’ bunch.

ä Sharpsville 57, Rocky Grove 14 — At Sharpsville, the Blue Darlings led 18-4 after the 1st quarter and cruised to the non-region victory.

The most impressive race during this weekend’s PIAA Track & Field Championships did not take place at Shippensburg University, nor will you read its results in any newspaper on or any web site.
To be sure, it was a race against time, but not in the sense of being defined by a coach’s hand-held device, nor Seth Grove Stadium’s scoreboard clock.
