The community is invited to visit the Shenango Valley YMCA, Hermitage, 4-6:30 p.m. Thursday for a “Community Appreciation Day”.
It will feature activities and special events and there is a free drawing for various prizes.
Attendees will receive tours of the YMCA facility and gain information about the many services the YMCA provides for the community, including:
Fitness center to serve all ages; gymnasium; members longue; lockerrooms and saunas; massage area; SilverSneakers Fitness program for older adults; wellness programs; fitness and support classes for cancer survivors; programs and sports leagues for various ages as well as afterschool programs; childwatch for members while they work out.
Thanks to the support of the United Way and various supporters, the YMCA provides financial assistance to those in need; free YMCA memberships to active-duty military personnel and their families; and discounted rates to local police, fire and paramedic staff.
“I would like to personally invite everyone to this event to see our updated look, meet and greet many of our hardworking volunteers and Board members, our nationally-certified and/or degreed instructors, our caring and qualified staff, and members who make our Y a family,” commented YMCA CEO Joellen Arenas.
There will be discounts and prizes for purchase of memberships. Froggy 95.1 FM will be doing a live radio broadcast from YMCA during the event.
