Roundup: Hickory, Sharon, GC boys grab 6-AAA wins

---- — The District 10 Class AA Team Dual-Meet Championships have been owned by Reynolds and Fort LeBoeuf since its inception, with the Raiders winning 10 titles under now retired coach Brian Hills and the Bison winning the other 3.

The two teams are heavily favored to meet again Saturday in the finals of the tourney at Edinboro University’s McComb Field House which expands to  8 teams this year for the first time. The top 2 teams advance to the state tourney the following weekend.

The 1st-round pairings Saturday are: 9 a.m. — Fort LeBoeuf vs. Sharpsville, Saegertown vs. Cambridge Springs; 11 a.m. — Reynolds vs. Union City, Greenville vs. Harbor Creek. The semifinals are set for 3 p.m., with finals at 5.

Last year Reynolds edge LeBoeuf (30-28) to win the D-10 crown, but the Bison turned the tables in the PIAA state finals to beat the Raiders and prevent a 4th state team crown for the Blue & Gray.

Reynolds and LeBoeuf already met once this season in the Ultimate Duals and it went to a tiebreaker after the teams deadlocked at 27, with LeBoeuf winning on Criteria 4 (most wins).

Coming into the tournament, both Reynolds and LeBoeuf are ranked high in the state polls behind No. 1 Bethlehem Catholic. In the Pennsylvania Wrestling Rankings, LeBoeuf is No. 2 and Reynolds No. 3. Greenville is ranked 10th. Reynolds and Greenville are slated for a D-10 semifinals meeting, barring an upset.

Several state-ranked wrestlers will be competing this weekend including:

Reynolds: 106—Michael Bartolo, 19th; 126—Mason McCollum, 17th; 132—Dylan D’Urso, 4th; 138—Austin Matthews, 1st; 145—Justin Rhodes, 15th; 152—Tyler Miller, 25th; 170—Jamar Henry, 16th; 185—Blake Heim, 4th.

Greenville: 152—Cody Copeland, 1st; 160—Randy Perkins, 11th; 182—Tyler Landfried, 4th; 220—Tyler Gentile, 7th.

Fort LeBoeuf: 196—Tyler Kuzma, 18th; 113—George McGuire, 6th; 126—Brandon Puckly, 10th; 138—Riley Smith, 7th; 145—Kody Pace, 6th; 152—Taylor Fox, 7th; 170—Craig Cihon, 3rd; 220—Evan Daley, 2nd; 285—Nate Conti, 22nd. — By Lynn Saternow, Herald sports editor.
