BROCKWAY — Had Julius Caesar coached the Wilmington High softball team intsead of Paul Smargiasso, perhaps he may have penned his wartime motto a bit differently.
“We came, we saw, we faltered,” Caesar may have said after Monday’s 10-0 loss to Philipsburg-Oceola (25-1) in the PIAA Class AA semifinal at Brockway High. If the Lady ’Hounds skipper’s comments after the game are any indication of such, he would agree, too.
