WEXFORD — Coaches and players from the Wilmington and Valley High softball teams were all asking the same question Thursday:
What the heck happened?
A controversial umpire’s call brought home the winning run in Wilmington’s 5-4 victory over Valley in the PIAA Class AA interdistrict playoffs at North Allegheny High field and sent the Lady Hounds to the state semifinals.
