NILES — Two-plus weeks into their New York-Penn League season and the Mahoning Valley Scrappers have secured a successful template: Pitching, defense and timely hitting.
“We’re finding some ways to win ballgames,” summarized Scrappers’ skipper Travis Fryman following his club’s 2-1 Pinckney Division victory over the Jamestown Jammers Friday night before 3,330 Eastwood Field fans.
