BASEBALL
ä Sharon 10, Sharpsville 1 — At South Py, the visiting Tigers tamed the Blue Devils by erupting for a 5-run 1st frame, highlighted by Sam Schweiss’ bases-loaded double.
Sharon right-hander Cory Johnson hurled a complete-game 4-hitter, striking out 11, walking only 1 and allowing just the one earned run.
Also for Sharon (8-4, 9-4) and Tigers’ 4th-year taskmaster Bill Dorfi, Mike Tomko singled, doubled and tripled, driving in 3 runs, and Dustin Norcross, Zach Kepple and Alex Senak each stroked 2 hits, with Kepple and Senak knocking in 2 and 1 run, respectively.
Sharpsville southpaw starter Matt Davies suffered the setback, though in 5 1/3 innings he fanned 5, did not issue a base on balls, and scattered 7 hits. None of the 5 runs he permitted were earned, Dordi reported. Also for Sharpsville, Josh Rodondi doubled.
ä Wilmington 13, Jamestown 1 (5 inn.) — At New Wilmington, Collin Fulkman’s firepower fueled the Greyhounds. He hammered his 4th home run of the season and 2nd grand slam.
Wilmington posted a pair of 5-run frames en route to the rout. Righty Chris Biedka (2-1) went the distance on the Hounds’ mound, striking out 7 and not issuing a walk.
Also for Wilmington (6-6, 6-9) — which remains mathematically alive for a District 10 playoff berth — Nate Reynolds drilled 2 doubles among his 3 hits, Matt Burns banged 3 hits, Shane Wagner and Nick Powell each produced a pair, and Rob Stowe slapped a 2-run single.
Jamestown starting pitcher Butch Buchholz lasted 1 1/3 innings and suffered the setback, while Danny Jenkins jolted a pair of hits.
ä West Middlesex 4, Reynolds 3 — At Transfer, Glenn Thomas and Kolten Hoffman combined on a 7-hitter as the Big Reds (9-3) edged the Raiders.
Thomas struck out 4 and gave up 3 runs in 2 2/3 innings. Hoffman came in and struck out 4 over the final 4 1/3 frames.
Steve Andrusky led WM at the plate, driving in all of their runs with a 3rd-inning grand slam. Andrusky and Marco Skarica were both 2-for-3. Skarica and Matt Murray had doubles.
Russ Conley was tagged with the mound loss. He also led the Raiders offensively with a 2-for-3 plate performance.
ä Meadville 5, Commodore Perry 3 — At Meadville on Wednesday, Ben Kittka struck out 10 and pitched a complete-game 5-hitter as the Bulldogs downed the Panthers (2-9, 3-9).
Joe Jackline and Dan Robinson split mound duty for CP. Jackline fanned 2, walked 4 and allowed 5 runs on 5 hits in 2 innings. For CP, which committed 4 errors, Jackline ripped a double, drove in 2 runs and scored and Josh Chisholm had an RBI single. Robinson whiffed 3, walked 2 and surrendered 2 hits.
Offensively for Meadville, Dillion Tabar had 2 singles and an RBI, Joe Mottillo ripped an RBI-single and Jon Roncolato scored twice.
SOFTBALL
ä Sharon 11, West Middlesex 1 (5 inn.) — At Wengler Field, Markee Juranovich twirled a complete-game 3-hitter with 5 strikeouts and 1 walk as the Lady Tigers improved to 14-1.
For Sharon, Juranovich homered, Aryn Christman belted a homer and a single, Alex Miller singled, doubled and homered, Brittanie Vukovich tripled and doubled, Connie Whalen contributed 3 singles and Samantha Vallely and Julie Norris added 2 singles apiece.
Tara Ash struck out 1, didn’t issue a walk and surrendered 15 hits in the loss. Britnee Zieminick scored West Middlesex’s lone run.
ä Wilmington 18, Reynolds 2 (4 inn.) — At Transfer, Brooke Buchowski led the Lady ’Hounds (12-1) to their 12th straight win.
Buchowski and Cassie Conway belted homers for Wilmington.
ä Wilmington 13, Kennedy Catholic 6 (8 inn.) — On Wednesday, Wilmington rallied in the 8th inning after the teams traded the lead 3 times and twice were deadlocked. The Lady Greyhounds garnered a 7-run outburst, sending a dozen batters to the plate.
For Wilmington, Buchowski’s 4-for-6 plate performance set the pace, while Carnie Smith and Leslie Kollar collected 3 hits apiece, and winning pitcher Sydney Cuscino helped herself by doubling twice. Buchowski and Kollar drilled doubles, also.
Losing pitcher Katie Ritchey was roughed up for 15 hits, though she struck out 6. Kennedy collected 9 hits and 3 walks from Cuscino.

BOYS VOLLEYBALL
ä Cochranton 3, Farrell 0 — On Senior Night at Farrell, the Steelers suffered a 25-21, 25-19, 25-15 loss to the Cardinals.
“My four seniors (Chris Schuster, Damon Avery, Jarel Clay and Shaun Jones) played a great game,” said Farrell coach Terry Gregory.
For Farrell, Schuster had 15 kills, 12 digs and 6 blocks,
Avery notched 5 kills and 5 digs, Clay dished out 17 assists and Jones registered 7 kills and 5 blocks.
JV: Cochranton, 25-17, 21-25, 15-8.
