MERCER COUNTY — DISTRICT II LITTLE LEAGUE ALL STAR RESULTS
JUNIOR DIVISION (13-14)
West Middlesex 12, Sharpsville 9 (10 innings) — At Sharpsville, the visitors plated 3 runs in the top of the 10th inning after both teams scored a single run in the 9th to advance.
West Middlesex grabbed a 7-3 lead after 5è innings after overcoming an early 3-0 deficit, but Sharpsville scored 4 times in the bottom of the 6th.
Kyle Allen picked up the win, pitching 4 innings of 2-hit relief, while striking out 5 and walking 2. Marcus Murray (10 strike outs) and Kyle Wimer also pitched for Middlesex.
Murray (3 singles), Brandon Kirk and Frank Ziemanick (2 hits), Jon Jansco (triple) and Kyle Wimer (double) led the West Middlesex offense.
For Sharpsville, Vincent Falconi singled and doubled, while Marcus Llewellyn connected on 2 singles.
Falconi was handed the setback after tossing 2 innings of 5-hit relief. Mike Riffe (5 innings, 5 runs, 6 hits, 6 walks and 1 strike out) and Ben Davis (4 innings, 3 runs, 3 hits, 2 walks and 2 strike outs) also pitched for Sharpsville.
Sharon 7, Greenville 4 — At Buhl Park, 8 Sharon batters connected on singles and Sam Schweiss scattered 9 hits on the mound as Sharon advanced.
Cameron Brown had two hits, Zac Anderson, Gary Revale, Schweiss, Aaron Darlington, Kaussam Ismail, Taylor Senac and Tyler Zoccoli belted singles.
Schweiss walked 1 and struck out 5.
For Greenville, Ryan Meadors ripped three singles, Cody Yavorsky, Dylan Zuschlag, Dillon Sarcinella, Matt Hetrich and Mike Black each singled.
Meadors suffered the loss, surrendering 7 runs on 8 hits, 2 walks and 2 kayos.
Mercer 13, Hermitage 6 —At Brandy Springs Park, Mercer took advantage of 14 Hermitage errors and 11 walks to advance in the winner’s bracket.
The victors grabbed a 6-0 first inning lead and tacked on 2 runs in the 2nd and 6th innings, while scoring a single run in the 3rd, 5th and 7th innings.
Jeff Faltot and Tyler Hoffman each had two singles, while Cody Frey scored 3 times. Herbie Hennegan, Justin Glass and Faltot each scored twice.
Hennegan picked up the victory, allowing just 3 hits, walking 8 and striking out 8.
For Hermitage, Sean Daniels, Anton Fellner and Dan Kirsch singled. Brandon Smith was saddled with the loss. He permitted just 6 hits, while kayoing 6.
Grove City 13, Commodore Perry 3 — At Commodore Perry, Grove City jumped out to a 6-1 first inning lead and never looked back.
GC padded its lead with single runs in the second, third and fifth innings.
Jeff Revesz and Alex Miklos led the Grove City offense with 3 singles apiece, while Ryan Prokay and Shane O’Conner singled and doubled. Steve Shaffer had two singlets.
Randall Risch (3 innings, 3 runs, 2 hits, 6 walks and 3 strike outs) and Ian Danielson (3 innings, 0 runs, 0 hits, 1 walk, 1 strike out) shared mound duties for Grove City.
Nick Huffman was saddled with the loss for CP. He allowed all 13 runs on 13 hits, 7 walks and struck out 2.
Offensively for Commodore Perry, Huffman and Brett Eddinger doubled.
MAJOR DIVISION (11-12)
Winner’s Bracket
Sharon 34, Farrell 3 (4 innings) — At Thornton, Sharon scored 16 runs in the first and 15 more in the third to advance to the winner’s bracket quarterfinals.
Joey Tomko homered and singled twice, while Gino Merolillo and Jason Sypolt also blasted roundtrippers.
Matt Kelly and Brandon Pendel doubled and singled twice, while Steve Wareham ripped 3 singles. Tyler Little, Chad Sterling, Xavier Mosley and Cy Krivosh doubled.
Tomko and Sterling shared mound duties.
For Farrell, Donte Campbell homered and tripled, while Lance Messett doubled. Lawrence Hughs, Andray Jefferson and Jonell Goudy pitched.
Greenville 10, New Castle 5 — At Greenville, Greenville grabbed a 5-0 first inning lead and never looked back.
The winners tacked on 3 runs in the 4th and 2 more in the 6th.
Nico Zahniser and Tyler Gentile each blasted home runs, while singling. Kenny Surano tripled.
Corey Douglas had 3 singles, while Dillon D’Urso connected on 2 singletons.
Zahniser picked up the win by scattering 10 hits, walking 4 and striking out 4.
For New Castle, Brandon Dominick doubled, while Tim Treloar, Cory Eggleston and Joe Ambrosini each belted 2 singles.
Justin Fleo was handed the loss on the mound for New Castle.
Loser’s Bracket
Grove City 11, Mercer 0 (4 innings) — At Grove City, Chauncey Miller blasted a grand slam and Brian Murone added a 3-run homer as GC cruised.
Grove City plated 3 runs in the first, 7 in the second and one more in the fourth.
Jon Anderson, Murone, Gavin Herald and Torin Smith each took an inning on the mound for Grove City.
For Mercer, Graydon Emhoff and Skylar Hartsock toiled on the mound for Mercer, while Joel Solomon doubled. Danny Miller and Aaron Collins singled.
Hermitage 18, Lakeview 3 — At Hermitage, no other details reported.
