MINOR DIVISION (9-10)
ä Grove City 13, Reynolds 1 (4 inn.) — At Grove City on Friday, GC plated 13 runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning to notch the win. Tyler Simmons went the distance, fanning 9, walking 2 and only allowing 2 hits. Offensively for GC, Kameron Patterson had a triple and 2 singles and Colton Eccles and Jeffrey Biddle both doubled and singled. Dustin Reimold and Daniel Blayney pitched for Reynolds, combining on 3 strikeouts. Grey Deciancio led the visitors at the plate with a double.
ä Hermitage 7, Grove City 1 — The winners won Pool B with a 4-0 mark and will play Pool A runner-up West Middlesex or Mercer on Sunday at a time to be announced. Cameron Pica pitched 5 scoreless innings, yielding only 1 hit and 1 walk, while fanning 10. Chance Goeke finished up. Will Gruber had a double and 2 singles, Pica a double and single and Ethan Davis and Jason Pursel singles for the winners. For GC, Tannor Glenn doubled and Ryan Fagan singled. Deven Reynolds and Justin Orlosky pitched for Grove City.
ä Greenville 19, Sharpsville 2 (4 inn.) — At Sharpsville on Friday, Greenville finished 2nd in Pool B and advanced to bracket play with the win. For Greenville, Ben Kozminski ripped 2 doubles, drove in 5 runs and scored twice. Also, Josh Hittle hit a homer, single and drove in 4 runs, Scott Simcoe homered, Trap Wentling tripled and doubled, Blake Reynolds doubled and singled, Cole Kusich had 2 singles and Levi Gill collected a pair of doubles and a single. Gill and Kozminski pitched for Greenville. At the plate for Sharpsville, Max Frazier ripped a 2-run single.
ä Mercer 8, Sharpsville 1 — At Sharpsville, Kyle Ricketts ripped a pair of doubles, Brock Watson and Trent Leonard lent two-baggers, Jimmy Amon singled and doubled, and Max Hamilton singled twice for the winners. Leonard, Haylie Glass and Amon took turns on the hill.
JUNIOR DIVISION (13-14)
ä West Middlesex 5, Grove City 2 — At West Middlesex, the trio of Jeremy Jancso, Jesse Nych and Mike Ginther collaborated on a 5-hitter, with Jancso whiffing 8. Also, Nate Anthony and Kyle Gilmore garnered 3 and 2 hits, respectively, to pace the offense, while Ginther and Mark Colella collected hits.
Losing hurler Kyle Bell went the distance, while Collin Lawson and Jerrod Sample singled twice each and MacKenzie Patterson also added a hit for Grove City.
ä Lakeview 9, Greenville 6 — At Greenville, Lakeview outscored Greenville 5-2 in the final frame for the difference.
Shane Whitehouse and Austin Slater singled twice each to lead Lakeview while Zach Bigley banged a of doubles. Also, Jared Damko doubled and Derek Giovengo, Casey Greggs, Jordan Herrmann and Blake Reddick ripped hits. Giovengo fanned 5 in 5 2/3 innings, while Damko shut the door with 1 1/3 innings of relief.
Lucas Houpt had a double for Greenville, while Jason Irwin and Jason Forbes forged 2 hits apiece and Seth Burchill, Matt Jones, Kendall King and Daniel Allison added hits. Braden Gladysz garnered a handful of KO’s in 5 frames and Forbes added another pair in 2 innings of relief.
MAJOR DIVISION (11-12)
ä Hermitage 18, Greenville 7 — At Greenville, Jake Andrzejewski belted 2 homers as Hermitage won the winners bracket. Also, Andrew Pursel homered and singled, Tommy Cannon hit a homer and doubled and Austin Aikins tripled and singled. Brady Leunis and Patrick Moldovan combined for 6 strikeouts in the win. For Greenville, Andy Jones, Gage Gladyz, Josh Johnson, Alex Gentile and T.J. Fisher split time on the hill and fanned 10 hitters. At the plate, Johnson smacked a home run, Gentile and Gabe Gladyz doubled and singled and Nick Black had a 2-bagger.
Sharon Farm Playoffs
ä Quaker Steak & Lube 21, Elks 19 (7 inn.) — Isaac Connelly ripped 4 hits, including a triple, as QS&L; edged Elks in the 1st round. Also, Nate Ritchey had a double and 2 singles, Mar’Ryon Hopson ripped 3 singles, Tyrese Howell doubled and singled, Andre Rodriguez notched a pair of singles, Michael Fair tripled and Dalton Thorhauer doubled. Ritchey, Hopson, Howell, Connelly and Niko Augustine pitched. For Elks, Jaquan Waller and Aaron Nichols doubled and singled and Austin Kirk and Frankie Shaffer added 2 singles each. Nichols, Max Palisin and J.P. McComb split time on the hill.
