Clergywomen’s group meeting Saturday

FARRELL — The Shenango Valley Interdenominational Clergywomen’s Alliance will hold its monthly meeting at 10 a.m. Saturday in Hour of Power Full Gospel Tabernacle 1126 Fruit Ave.

Seventh-day Adventist to hold special service

SHENANGO TOWNSHIP — Shenango Valley Seventh-day Adventist Church, 1001 Wheatland Road, will hold communion during the 11 a.m. service Saturday.

The Adventist Church’s policy is to invite guests to participate in communion, which follows the ordinance of footwashing. A fellowship meal is planned for after the service.

Fatima–St. Ann groups attending Mass

FARRELL — The Altar Rosary Society and the Holy Name Society of Our Lady of Fatima–St. Ann Church will attend the 9 a.m. Mass Sunday in the church at 601 Roemer Blvd.

The Altar Rosary group will meet to recite the Rosary at 8:30 a.m. The Holy Name group will have a breakfast meeting after the Mass in the cafeteria of Monsignor Monti School.

Guest to lead service at Christian Assembly

GREENVILLE — Christian Assembly, 111 Main St., will welcome Joel Diangi as guest speaker and song leader for the 10 a.m. service Sunday. He formerly pastored in Philadelphia.

Hickory U.M. childrendo ‘Live from Bethlehem’

HERMITAGE — “Live From Bethlehem” will be performed Sunday by the Sunday school children at Hickory United Methodist Church, 240 N. Hermitage Road, next to the Shenango Valley Mall.

The performance will be at 10:50 a.m. A worship service will be held during the 8:30 a.m. time slot.

Greater Mt. Zion church to mark 62nd anniversary

FARRELL — Greater Mount Zion Church of God in Christ will celebrate its 62nd church anniversary at the 11 a.m. service Sunday. Guest speaker will be Elder Leroy Eddington, who will be accompanied by the choir and congregation of Mount Sinai Church of God in Christ, Niles. Ohio.

The church was founded by the late Bishop Odis Alexander and his wife, the late Mother Virginia Alexander, in 1947.

Missionaries will be feature at a 5 p.m. service. “Fruit of the Spirit” will be the theme.

Rev. Kresinski to speak at Hour of Power

FARRELL — The Rev. Daniel Kresinski will speak at a joint service at 11 a.m. Sunday in Hour of Power Full Gospel Tabernacle’s new church at 1126 Fruit Ave.

Rev. Kresinski is a former pastor at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, which formerly was housed at the Fruit Avenue address. The service is open to everyone.

Unity Presbyterian to stage musical drama

LACKAWANNOCK TOWNSHIP — The choir of Unity Presbyterian Church at Greenfield, 1857 Mercer-West Middlesex Road, will present a musical drama at 11 a.m. Sunday.

“A Shepherd Remembers ...” was written by Jane Bartholomew, music director and organist at Unity, and features “Benjamin the Shepherd,” played by Dwight Hoagland, recalling events surrounding the birth of Christ.

Friendship Baptist service features guest speaker

FARRELL — A resident of Midland in Beaver County will be guest speaker at the 11 a.m. service Sunday in Friendship Baptist Church, 339 Spearman Ave.

Iv Jo Roach is the leader of the senior citizens ministry at First Baptist Church in Midland. A co-author of “The Women’s Handbook for Self-Empowerment,” she is a certified women’s issues instructor for the Professional Women’s Network, Louisville, Ky. She is attending Harty Bible School in Aliquippa.

Guest speaker slated at Second Baptist Church

SHARPSVILLE — Elder Terrance Harrison of Greater Mount Zion of God in Christ in Farrell will be guest speaker at the 11:15 a.m. service Sunday in Second Baptist Church, 10 Walnut St.

New Light Baptist holds 30th anniversary service

SHARON — “A Celebration of God’s Faithfulness” is the theme of a service at 11 a.m. Sunday in New Light Missionary Baptist Church, 170 Sharpsville Ave.

The church is observing its 30th anniversary. Guest speaker will be the Rev. Robert L. Simpson, former pastor of the church. “Friend and Family Day” will feature several former members, families and friends participating in the service, and a candlelight memorial service for loved ones who have passed away.

SHARON — The Rev. Calvin Jordan of Farrell will be guest speaker at the 11 a.m. service Sunday in New Life Covenant Church, 807 Spruce Ave. He is an assistant minister at Second Baptist Church in Farrell.

Redeeming Life Victory holding healing services

First Baptist home to Bethlehem Boulevard

SHARON — Families are invited to visit Bethlehem Boulevard from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday in First Baptist Church, 301 W. State St.

Visitors will meet participants playing roles reflecting the city at the time Jesus was born. They will meet Mary and Joseph with the Baby Jesus, Roman soldiers, a census taker and shopkeepers, see animals and sample food in the marketplace.

Hickory U.M. to show ‘Jesus of Nazareth’

HERMITAGE — The epic mini-series “Jesus of Nazareth” will be shown in two parts starting at 2 p.m. Sunday. A potluck supper will serve as an intermission for the movie. Those attending are asked to bring a food dish.

Singing Chargers giving Christmas program

SHEAKLEYVILLE — The Singing Chargers will present “Sing, Choirs of Angels” at 3 p.m. Sunday in Sheakleyville United Methodist Church.

The group is composed of 25 members of the Sheakleyville U.M. Charge.

ACTS to present ‘A Baby Changes Everything’

SLIPPERY ROCK — A Christmas cantata, “A Baby Changes Everything” will be presented by ACTS at 7 p.m. Sunday in Center Presbyterian Church on Center Street in Slippery Rock.

Adoring Christ Thru Song is a non-profit choral and instrumental organization that shares the gospel through the performing arts. A free-will offering will be received to offset expenses of the choir and orchestra.

Trinity Presbyterian choir to lead caroling

MERCER — The adult choir of Trinity Presbyterian Church, 110 E. Live Nativity at Central Community’s Epicenter

PYMATUNING TOWNSHIP — Central Community Church is hosting a Live Nativity on Dec. 20 behind the Epicenter on Route 18 near Transfer. Times are 9 and 10:30 a.m. and 4:30 and 6 p.m.

The Christmas story will be portrayed through a shepherd’s eyes. The scene at the heated site will include live music and animals. Refreshments will be served and the Epicenter (youth center and game room) will be open to the public following each scheduled event.

New Beginnings’ drama, candlelight service set

HEMPFIELD TOWNSHIP — The Expressionz Drama Team of New Beginnings Christian Church, 73 Hamburg Road, will present “Are You Sleeping?” at 10 a.m. Dec. 20. Kids for Christ will also give a Christmas presentation.
