Police, fire from Nov. 21, 2009


Brookfield

• David L. Bell, 25, of 828 Standard Ave., Masury, was charged with breaking and entering, possession of criminal tools and criminal trespassing.

At 10:27 a.m. Thursday, police received a report of a trespasser in Lee Industrial Park and when they arrived, they said they found Bell trying to remove lengths of copper wire from one of the buildings.

Police said more than 700 feet of copper wiring has been stolen from the plant the last month.

• Bryan L. Redmond, 54, of Warren, Ohio, was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphenalia at 1:15 a.m. Friday at Davis and Syme streets. Police said they found pot and drug paraphenalia in his car after a traffic stop.

Grove City

• A gold cubic zirconia ring was found Thursday in the 600 block of West Poplar Street, police said.

Hermitage

• Melanie M. Ross, 34, of 466 Georgetown St., Sharpsville, has been charged with theft for stealing furniture, tools, a telescope, lawn mowers, a portable basketball hoop and other items from her ex-boyfriend and former landlord May 3 at 3720 Lamor Road, police said. Some of the items were returned by Ms. Ross and another ex-boyfriend, police said.

• Joshua J. Ott, 29, of 270 Maple Drive, Hermitage, has been charged with making terroristic threats, simple assault, harassment and criminal mischief for grabbing a woman’s head, hitting it off a wall several times, throwing her to the ground and choking her at 10:52 a.m. Nov. 10 at home, police said. He also said he would kill the woman, and threw her cellular telephone when she tried to call police, police said. The woman went to a hospital, police said.

DRUNKEN DRIVING ARREST

Hempfield Township

• Kevin Vincent, 29, Davidson Avenue, Greenville; at 10:12 p.m. Thursday at 45 Williamson Road after a two-vehicle accident; also cited for leaving the scene, reckless driving and failing to give information or render aid.
