---- — Greenville-West Salem Township

• Dominic A. Bates, 18, of 189 Columbia Ave., Greenville, has been cited with underage drinking and public drunkenness stemming from an incident Monday at home, police said.

Hermitage

• Thomas Swanson, 50, of 103 Golf Road, Jefferson Township, was taken to a local hospital after his vehicle was rear-ended by one driven by Adam Grimm, 17, of 1427 W. Main St., Sharpsville, at 5:20 p.m. Wednesday on Lamor Road, near Pierce Bluffs Drive, police said. Swanson was stopped eastbound waiting for a vehicle in front of his to turn left, police said.

• Harry Peden, 39, of 5 Rooney St., and Amy L. Horak, 40, of 1 Louisa Ave., both Greenville, were taken to a Youngstown hospital after the motorcycle they were on was hit from behind by a vehicle at 9:55 p.m. Wednesday at South Hermitage Road and Glimcher Boulevard, police said. Both vehicles were stopped northbound waiting for a traffic light to green, police said. When the light changed, Scott Bryan, 22, of Tomall, Tex., started forward before the motorcycle had moved, police said.

• Tools were taken from the rear of a truck between 5 p.m. Tuesday and 6:15 a.m. Wednesday in the 399 block of Ohio Street, police said.

• Adam J. Gassner, 28, of 4841 Sample Road, Hermitage, has been charged with theft and receiving stolen property for returning for $77 a gift card, a cellular telephone case and a headlight that another man had stolen at 12:50 p.m. July 1 at Walmart, 1275 N. Hermitage Road, police said.

• Adrian J. Ivey, 33, of 318 Pershing Drive, Farrell, has been charged with simple assault, criminal mischief and theft for punching, kicking and spitting on a woman, smashing her computer and television and stealing two cellular telephones at 3:38 a.m. Dec. 5 at an apartment in the 200 block of Orange Drive, Hermitage, police said.

• Ashley L. Medrano, 26, of 2396 Saratoga Drive, Hermitage, has been charged with theft for stealing a purse from a dugout at 6 p.m. June 20 at the Hermitage Little League fields, 5525 Virginia Road, police said.

Southwest Mercer County Regional

• John T. Burkes, 27, of 405 Spearman Ave., Farrell, has been charged with possession of crack cocaine with intent to deliver, possession of crack and criminal use of a cellular telephone for selling $20 worth of crack to Meagan Deitz at 6:25 p.m. June 19 at Idaho Street and Fruit Avenue, Farrell, police said.

Deitz previously was charged.

Burkes also was charged with possession of five pills of Lortab without a prescription and crack cocaine for having the drugs on him when he was arrested on a warrant at 12:39 p.m. Monday in the 700 block of Idaho Street, Farrell, police said.

• Lawrence M.R. Lane, 18, of 390 Emerson Ave., Farrell, has been charged with possession of 41 pills of Tramadol without a license and possession of drug paraphernalia for having the pills on him after he was seen handing something to another student at 11:55 a.m. Jan. 27 in Farrell Area High School, police said.

State police

• Sijilfredo Fraga, 24, of Willard, Ohio, has been charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia for items police said they found when he was a passenger in a vehicle stopped for a traffic violation at 7:57 p.m. June 28 on Interstate 80 westbound in Lackawannock Township.

State police

• Cory J. Eakin, 22, of Meadville; at 4:24 p.m. June 24 on Interstate 80 westbound, Shenango Township; also charged with a lane violation, following too closely, careless driving and an open container violation.
