Hermitage
• Thomas Bigley, 55, of Youngstown, has been charged with attempted theft and conspiracy to commit theft for loading stainless steel gutters into a vehicle May 14 at 249 Spangler Road, police said. The property owner found Bigley and another man and confronted them, police said. The owner got the license plate number of the vehicle they left in, and identified the men from a photographic lineup, police said.
• Two people were injured in a head-on collision at 4:11 p.m. June 28 in the 5500 block of East State Street, police said.
Zachary Balakoff, 22, of 4788 Pine Cone Drive, Hermitage, was listed in stable condition at St. Elizabeth’s Health Center, Youngstown, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Police said Bree A Beckstein, 30, of 4 Hamilton Ave., Greenville, also was taken to a hospital, but they did not know which one.
Balakoff, who was westbound on East State Street, was cited for a lane violation for turning left into the path of Ms. Beckstein, who was driving eastbound, police said.
• A gold cross and a gospel book were stolen from the altar of St. Michael’s Church between 6:30 and 7:15 a.m. Sunday at 2330 Highland Road, police said.

• Billy J. Barrett, 34, of 969 Sherman Ave., Sharon, was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia at 3:20 a.m. Friday at King Street and Spruce Avenue by police investigating a theft of firearms, police said. Police said they were staking out an area when Barrett came into the alley. Pot and a pipe were found on him during a patdown search for weapons, police said.
• Diana L. Velez, 26, of 842 N. Sharpsville Ave., Sharon, has been cited with harassment for slamming a car door against a woman’s legs at 8:10 p.m. Friday at home, police said.
• An employee and a former employee of Quaker, Steak and Lube, 101 Chestnut Ave., Sharon, were arrested at 2:25 a.m. July 4 for stealing beer from the Sugar Shack, an outdoor bar on the business property, police said.
Timothy R. Martin, 22, of 543 Erie St., Sharon, and Benjamin H. Parker, 29, of 3000 Lakewood Drive, Hermitage, were seen by police loading beer into a car, police said.
Martin, the former employee, and Parker, who worked for the Lube at the time, each were charged with burglary, theft, receiving stolen property and conspiracy, police said.
• Jesse R. Bewley, 21, of 119 Third St., Sharon, has been cited with harassment for slapping a 22-year-old Brookfield woman at 9:47 p.m. Sunday in a parking lot at East State Street and North Oakland Avenue, police said.
ä Michael D. Josa, 45, who has no address, was arrested at 12:03 a.m. Tuesday on Liberty Street on charges of theft, receiving stolen property and loitering and prowling by night after he was seen carrying a crate of tools that had been stolen earlier in the day from the 300 block of New Castle Avenue, police said.
• Police said they recovered a stolen handgun when a man pulled a gun on an apartment complex employee at 11 a.m. June 29 on Sterling Avenue, police said. The employee said he was given permission by the tenant to make a repair in the apartment, but the tenant’s son had not been told, police said. The son was awakened by the employee, and the son pulled a gun on the employee, thinking he had broken in, police said. The .45-caliber handgun was stolen, police said.
• Catherine Houston, 26, of 439 Watson St., Sharon, has been charged with theft and receiving stolen property for stealing several DVDs and video games from a 24-year-old Sharon woman’s home, police said. Ms. Houston sold four of the DVDs and five of the games at about 6 p.m. Monday to Budd Street Video, 34 N. Sharpsville Avenue, police said.

• Stanley K. Brown, 36, of 1104 Hamilton Ave., Farrell, has been charged with carrying a firearm without a license, tampering with evidence, reckless endangerment, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness for stumbling out of Roamers Hotel Bar, 204 Roemer Blvd., Farrell, at 1:47 a.m. June 6 and pointing a pistol at a crowd near the doorway, police said. Brown and another man struggled over the gun, and Brown got into a car that drove away, police said. The car was stopped, but the gun was not found, police said.

• Daniel P. Morgan, 24, and Brandy L. Scott, 23, both of Grove City, have been cited with criminal trespass for being on property that was posted no trespassing at 8:30 p.m. June 18 at 335 Centertown Road, Pine Township, police said.
• John M. Rust, 23, and Jeremy J. Bell, 21, both of Grove City, each have been cited with harassment for allegations they made against each other at about 12:05 a.m. June 13 in a parking lot on Route 58, Pine Township, police said.
