Grove City
• A house fire was reported at 6:44 p.m. Wednesday at 514 Tidball Ave., Grove City, Mercer County 911 said. Firefighters were still at the scene Wednesday night.
Responding were Grove City, Springfield, Stoneboro, Slippery Rock and East End volunteer fire departments and Pine Township Engine Company, said a 911 spokeswoman.
Hermitage
• Heather J. Lundquest, 23, of 274 Buckeye Drive, South Pymatuning Township, has been charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Police said they stood by as a man moved out his belongings at 1:55 a.m. Jan. 8 at her address, and Ms. Lundquest was passed out on a couch with a bag of pot and a pipe nearby.
• Patricia A. Thompson, 24, of 55 Maple Drive, Pymatuning Township, has been charged with false reports for telling police she was raped and robbed Feb. 9 in a parking lot in the 1200 block of North Hermitage Road, police said. The woman concocted the story so her fiance would not know she was with another man at a bar in Sharon, police said.
• Jeremy R. Whenry, 36, of 551 Kishon St., Farrell, has been charged with theft for signing a contract Aug. 14 to install carpet at Elite Firearms, 1400 N. Hermitage Road, accepting a $747 deposit, but never doing the work, police said.
• Samuel T. Hassel, 19, of 1979 Winner Road, Hermitage, has been charged with theft for stealing $200 to pay off drug debts in December from soda vending machines at MCAR Inc., 850 N. Hermitage Road, where he worked, police said.
SW Mercer County Regional
• Matthew C. Skarica, 24, of 2019 Landay Lane., Farrell, has been charged with possession of marijuana and public drunkenness for having a bag of pot in his pants when he was arrested after being seen staggering at 1:30 p.m. Feb. 24 in the 800 block of Sharon-New Castle Road, Farrell, police said.
