West Salem Township


• Someone broke into a Second Street home between Friday and Saturday and stole a Wii console, Xbox system and PlayStation Portable worth about $1,200, police said.

Sharon

• Carl R. Porterfield, 33, of 474 Wengler Ave., as cited for having dogs at large at 9:38 a.m. Tuesday at home, police said.

State police

• A Sandy Lake-area man was injured when his van hit a tree at 4:45 a.m. Saturday along Route 62 in Sandy Lake Township, police said.

Christopher S. Alford, 35, was treated at UPMC Horizon, Greenville, police said. He was cited for careless driving and a lane violation, police said.

• A log-splitter was stolen overnight June 28 on Sharon Mercer Road, East Lackawannock Township, police said.

• A vehicle identification number plate was stolen between June 22 and 28 from a vehicle on Leesburg-Grove City Road in Springfield Township, police said.

• Money was stolen during a burglary between 2 and 10 a.m. July 1 at Jacks R Wild, 7501 Market St., Jefferson Township, police said.

• A woman reported that prescription medication was stolen June 29 from her home on Baker Street in Otter Creek Township, police said.

• A .22-caliber rifle, a 20-gauge shotgun, ammunition and a bottle of alcohol were stolen between June 27 and July 1 from a home on Tent Hill Road, Millcreek Township, police said.

• A Smith and Wesson 44 magnum pistol was stolen between May 1 and June 15 from a mobile home on West Market Street, Lackawannock Township, police said.

• Numerous pieces of heavy equipment owned by Temple Portable Crushing, Hadley, were damaged between June 29 and July 1 at a gravel pit on Foster Road, Millcreek Township, police said.

• A purse and wallet were stolen between noon and 3:15 p.m. July 1 from a vehicle parked at a food pantry on West Cornell Road, Coolspring Township, police said.

• A laptop computer was stolen between 4 and 11 p.m. July 2 from a mobile home on West Market Street, Lackawannock Township, police said.

• Two people were injured in a one-car crash at 11:02 a.m. July 2 on Interstate 80 westbound, Shenango Township, police said.

Driver Christine Boryczewski, 62 of Lodi, N.J., was listed in serious condition Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Health Center, Youngstown, a hospital spokeswoman said.

Passenger Bogdan Parasion, 63, of Lodi, also was taken to St. E’s, police said. The spokeswoman said she has no listing of him.

The car was traveling in heavy rain when Ms. Boryczewski went over a guardrail and down an embankment, police said. She was cited for driving at an unsafe speed, police said.

• A Norfolk, Va., man was injured when his eastbound motorcycle hit a tire on Interstate 80 at 5:29 a.m. Monday and he was thrown as the bike flipped, police said.

Frank G. Sollitto, 41, who was wearing a helmet, was in fair condition Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Health Center, Youngstown, a hospital spokeswoman said.

ªThomas M. Garish, 62, of 7892 Third St., Masury; at 6:39 p.m. Monday at South Hermitage Road and Glimcher Boulevard; also charged with improper stop.

State police

• Richard N. Swisher, 51, of Stoneboro; at 1:40 a.m. Friday on Route 58, Findley Township; also charged with careless driving and a lane violation.

WARRANT ARREST

•Antonio Smith, 21, no address; at 4:04 p.m. Monday at East State Street and Pine Avenue on a warrant for failing to appear in court;
