Patricia “Patty” M. Bartholomew of Hermitage, formerly of Sharon, passed away at 8:15 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System after an extended illness. She was 72.
Mrs. Bartholomew was born Feb. 29, 1940, in Sharon to Martin Gates Sr. and Anna Vislosky Gates.
She graduated from Farrell High School in 1958.
Patty worked as a clerk at the former Valley View department store, Brookfield.
She was of the Catholic faith and enjoyed bingo and watching “The Bold and the Beautiful.”
Her husband, Michael A. “Iceberg” Bartholomew, whom she married Feb. 11, 1961, passed away Feb. 1, 2010.
Surviving are: two daughters, Sherry Mihalson, Florida; and Michele Bartholomew, Sharon; two sisters, Anna Marie Chintella, Hermitage; and Martha Stambaugh and her husband Leroy, Sharpsville; a niece, Kathie McGrane and her husband Robert, Virginia; nephews, George Chintella, Ohio; and Thomas L. Stambaugh, Sharpsville; and grandchildren, Kevin Michael Mihalson, Tyler Mihalson, Mackenzie Mihalson and Michael Songer.
Besides her husband, Patty was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Martin Gates Jr.; and a brother-in-law, George Chintella.
