ERIE – Joan G. Giroski Bell of Fairview Township, Erie County, died at 5:09 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, in UPMC Hamot, Erie. She was 80.
Born Jan. 1, 1933, in Sharon, Joan was a daughter of Michael and Anne Goda Giroski.
She was proud of her 30 years of service at Delphi Packard Electric Division of General Motors, in Warren, Ohio, where she was a wire assembler before retiring in 1990.
Joan was an avid reader and a devout football fan. She had previously belonged to St. Michael’s Church in Greenville.
Survivors include: her daughter, Mickey Dickison and her husband Ralph, Stevensville, Md.; four grandchildren, Brian Dickison and his wife Jennifer, Erie; Travis Bell, New Brighton, Pa.; Nathan Dickison, Stevensville; and Jenna Bell, New Brighton; and her daughter-in-law, Barbara Bell, also New Brighton. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Gregory Bell; and a brother, Edward Giroski.
