PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. – Gwendolyn P. Locke, Port St. Lucie, formerly of Stuart, Fla., and Trace Street, Hermitage, passed away peacefully at 9:55 a.m. Wednesday (2-8-12) with her daughters at her side in the Magdolna Home Care nursing facility, Port St. Lucie. She was 83.
Mrs. Locke was born June 2, 1928, in Sharon, a daughter of John Henry and Grace E. Hall Horseman.
She attended Sharon schools.
A homemaker, Mrs. Locke worked for the former G.C. Murphy Department Store in downtown Sharon and the Little Shopper in Hermitage, and also worked as a caregiver for several years.
She was a member of Lebanon Presbyterian Church, Jefferson Township.
Mrs. Locke was an avid bowler and belonged to the Jinx League and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Mixed League at Hickory Bowl, and the Tuesday Morning and the Mixed League at Mercer Bowling.
Her husband, William L. Locke, whom she married July 17, 1948, passed away July 11, 1998.
She is survived by: two daughters, Linda L. Deel and her husband Daniel, Port St. Lucie; and Valerie “Jean” Dovutovich and her husband Joseph, Stuart; a sister, Paula Priester and her husband John, West Middlesex; and two grandchildren, Amy, Sharon; and William Dovutovich and his fiancée Jackeline Polania, Stuart.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Raymond and Jack Horseman; and her sister, Thelma Addicott.
