Paula Jean Frederick of 6156 Jacqueline Drive, Brookfield, passed away unexpectedly at 5:17 p.m. Sunday (7-25-10) in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. She was 68.
Mrs. Frederick was born Oct. 12, 1941, in Warren, Ohio, a daughter of Paul and Virginia Parent Armstrong.
A lifelong area resident, she was a graduate of Hickory High School, Hermitage.
In her early years, she worked at the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp. She also worked for The Radisson Hotel in Shenango Township, where she was the dining room supervisor, and for The Globe Restaurant at Truck World, Hubbard. Her last employment was at Yankee Lake, Brookfield, in both the party center and at the inn, where she was employed for more than 20 years.
She loved to cook and bake for her family and friends.
Her true joy in life was sharing time with her husband, children and grandchildren; she was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many.
Her husband, John “Fred” Frederick, whom she married July 12, 1985, survives at home.
She also leaves: her daughters, Merilee Siege and her husband Tim, Sharpsville; Pamela Giroski and her husband John, West Middlesex; Karyn Welbaum and her husband Randy, Garrett, Ind.; and Kelly Rodriguez and her husband Lou, Grand Forks (N.D.) Air Force Base; her son, Robert Kapsa Jr., Naval Station, San Diego; a son-in-law, David Shuttleworth, Sharpsville; and her grandchildren, Jennifer, Joshua and Ryan Siege and Timothy Siege Jr.; Darci, Erin and Lorigan Shuttleworth; Emma and Trent Welbaum; and Amanda Blyth and her husband Ian.
She also leaves: her two sisters, Karen Maselli and her husband Fran, Westerville, Ohio; and Cheryl Odvar and her husband John, Farmville, Ohio; her three brothers, Dale Armstrong and his wife Brenda; Todd Armstrong and his wife Malinda; and Gary Armstrong and his wife Linda, all of Farmdale; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Virginia and Vince Phillips, and Paul and Ann Armstrong; her brother, Paul Leslie Armstrong; and two daughters, Wendy Shuttleworth and Karen Renee Harsh.
