Westinghouse retiree liked to fish, garden, play cards

---- — Paul Garrett of Homewood Drive, Hermitage, passed away at 1:30 a.m. Monday (1-28-13) in his residence. He was 88.

Mr. Garrett was born March 21, 1924, in Pulaski to Cecil Roy Garrett and Amanda Spears Garrett.

He attended Pulaski schools.

Mr. Garrett was employed at the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp., retiring in 1984 as a forklift driver after 42 years.

He was an Army veteran.

Paul enjoyed fishing, vegetable gardening and playing cards.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Sharon.

His wife, the former Helen Virginia Berg, whom he married  Oct. 5, 1943, died in 1994.

Surviving is a daughter, Barbara E. Kelley, St. John, Ind.

Besides his wife, Paul was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Dory and Lyle Garrett.

Memorial contributions may be made to Family Hospice and Palliative Care, Colonial Square, 1965 Shenango Valley Freeway, Suite 2, Hermitage, PA 16148.

Calling hours: 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday (1-30-13) in SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 3126 Main St., West Middlesex.

Service: Funeral service at 11 a.m. Thursday (1-31-13) in the funeral home.

Interment: Hillcrest Memorial Park, Hermitage.
