SAN ANGELO, Texas – Kenneth J. Arbuckle, formerly of Carlton Road, Mill Creek Township (Sandy Lake), passed away of natural causes Sunday (1-13-13) in San Angelo. He was 90.
Born May 8, 1922, in Rouseville, Venango County, Mr. Arbuckle was a son of Daniel J. and Belva Mae Cochran Arbuckle.
Mr. Arbuckle was a 1940 graduate of the former Sheakleyville High School.
In his early years, he worked at Westinghouse Electric Corp. in Meadville; Chicago Bridge and Iron Co.’s former Hempfield Township plant; and Sandy Lake Implement. He retired from McCroskey Tool Co. of Meadville in 1983 after 17 years as a machinist.
As an active longtime member of New Lebanon Community Church, he served on the church council, sang in the choir and led music in Sunday school for many years.
Kenny loved woodworking and made keepsakes for family and friends through the years. He loved things mechanical, enjoyed tinkering and played the role of handyman for many.
For more than 30 years, he served as a caretaker for New Lebanon Cemetery, Mill Creek Township.
He was a decorated World War II Army veteran, a recipient of four Bronze Stars who took part in four major campaigns. He hauled military personnel and supplies by truck into combat zones on the front lines, many times under blackout conditions over all types of terrain.
He is survived by: his wife, the former Ruth E. Ebbert, whom he married Sept. 13, 1947, and who resides in San Angelo; two daughters, Linda Miller and her husband Steven, Rocky Face, Ga.; and Darlene Hamilton and her husband Michael, Mertzon, Texas; two sons, Larry R. Arbuckle and his wife Kettisha, Copper Canyon, Texas; and Daniel F. Arbuckle and his wife Ruth, Fairport, N.Y.; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and a brother, Lyle R. Arbuckle and his wife Gail, Hadley.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Kenneth Chester “KC” Groves; a sister, Kathleen Voorhies; and a brother, George Eugene Arbuckle.

Interment: New Lebanon Cemetery, Mill Creek Township.
