Richard C. Kozma Sr.

Sharon man worked at National Castings, Preston

---- — Richard C. Kozma Sr. of Sharon passed away at 12:20 a.m. Friday, Aug. 17, 2012, in UPMC Horizon, Farrell. He was 77.

Mr. Kozma was born Oct. 25, 1934, in Sharon to Charles and Katherine Yonchak Kozma.

He attended Farrell High School.

Mr. Kozma worked as a chipper for 20 years for the former National Castings Division of Midland-Ross Corp., Sharon, from which he retired in 1983. He then worked as a bartender for the former Swirl Inn, Hermitage, and worked as a driver for Preston Ford of Sharon.

A Navy veteran, Mr. Kozma served during the Korean conflict from 1951 to 1956.

He enjoyed swimming, grocery shopping, cooking and reading, but most of all, enjoyed spending time with his family. Richard also served for more than 15 years as an umpire for Sharon Little League.

His wife, the former Barbara “Barbara Blue Eyes” Perriello, whom he married July 28, 1952, survives at home.

Surviving are: three daughters, Beverly J. Roberts and her husband James, Pulaski; Paula Marcella and her husband Joseph, Sharon; and Barbara Roulier, Aurora, Colo.; four sons, Richard C. Kozma Jr. and his wife Monica, Hermitage; David Michael Kozma, Sharon; Joseph M. Kozma, Sharon; and Eric P. Kozma, New Bethlehem, Pa.; and his grandchildren, Kris, Nathaniel, Eric, Tyler, Kaitlyn, Chelsi, Jenna, Nico and Mathew.

Mr. Kozma was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Kozma and Katherine Yonchak Kozma Radas; a sister, Elaine Pears; and a brother, Charles Kozma.
