Amelia L. Phipps, formerly of Grove City and Harrisville, went to be with her Lord and Savior at 9 p.m. Tuesday, July 27, 2010, in Trinity Living Center, Grove City, where she was a resident since August 2001. She was 94.
Mrs. Phipps was born Oct. 6, 1915, in Pittsburgh to Joseph F. and Amelia K. Schubert Klein.
She was a graduate of Shaler (Pa.) High School.
A homemaker, Amelia was a member of Barkeyville Church of God.
Her husband, Charles A. Phipps Sr., whom she married Nov. 28, 1934, died June 21, 1989.
Surviving are: five daughters, Anna May Thompson and her husband James, Montclair, Calif.; Henrietta K. Graham and her husband William; and Eleanor C. Liston and her husband Robert, all Grove City; Gladys L. Reimes and her husband John, Edinburg, Lawrence County; and Christine H. Burnside and her husband Richard, Volant; a son, Charles A. Phipps Jr. and his wife Peggy, Edinburg; and 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren and seven stepgreat-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, a granddaughter, two sisters and four brothers.
