Norman Horvath of Sharpsville passed away peacefully at 1:23 a.m. Tuesday, March 20, 2012, in UPMC Horizon, Greenville, after a brief illness. He was 82.
Mr. Horvath was born April 24, 1929, in Sharon to Paul and Barbara Gearhardt Horvath.
He served during the Korean conflict from 1951-53 with the 101st Airborne Division as a military policeman in Panama.
He worked as a bricklayer through Local 17 of the Bricklayers union.
Norman enjoyed high school football and was an avid Sharpsville Blue Devils fan.
His wife, the former Virginia Mae Costell, whom he married Nov. 4, 1950, survives at home.
He is also survived by: two children, a son, “Butch” Horvath, Sharon; a daughter, Shelly Findley and her husband Craig, Sharpsville; four grandchildren, of whom he was very proud and who were his pride and joy, Jason Findley and his wife Sarah, Sharpsville; Natalie and her husband Daniel Dundon, Hubbard; and Brittany Findley and her fiancé Dustin, and Nathaniel Findley, all Sharpsville; four great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Julianne Martino, Florida; and Sylvia Horvath, Hermitage.
Norman was preceded in death by his parents; a son, William Richard “Squeeky” Horvath; a daughter, Peggy Sue Horvath; three brothers, Paul, Peter and William; and a sister, Tanya Horvath.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Service: Memorial service at 10 a.m. Saturday (3-24-12) in First Assembly of God, 1455 N. Keel Ridge Road, Hermitage, with the Rev. Kenneth E. Martin, pastor, officiating. Full military services will be conducted by American Legion Post 432, Wheatland, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6233, West Middlesex.
