Colleen L. Ruhlman of 104 Probst Road, West Salem Township, passed away at 1 a.m. Monday (3-18-13) in UPMC Horizon, Greenville. She was 81.
Mrs. Ruhlman was born Nov. 5, 1931, in Oil City to James H. and Catherine Vernon Parson.
She was a graduate of Oil City High School.
Mrs. Ruhlman was a member of Jerusalem Christian Church, Otter Creek Township.
She retired with 17 years service as a nurse’s aide from St. Paul’s, West Salem Township.
She loved playing the organ, embroidering, quilting and crocheting.
Her husband, Warren N. Ruhlman Sr., whom she married Aug. 21, 1954, passed away Dec. 18, 1989.
Surviving are: her sons, Dennis E. Ruhlman and his wife Audrey, Seneca, Pa.; Warren N. Ruhlman Jr. and his wife Diane, Transfer; and James E. Ruhlman, Greenville; her daughter, Star Terry and her husband Dennis, Cleveland, Ohio; a brother, Robert Parson and his wife Pat, Franklin; a daughter-in-law, Carol Ruhlman, Sarasota, Fla.; and two sisters-in-law, Jean Moeller, Bradenton, Fla.; and Ethel Parson, Rouseville. Pa.
She also leaves her grandchildren, Gayle Mitchell and her husband Lance, Venue, Pa.; Kathryn McCann and her husband John, Kalamazoo, Mich.; Maria Ruhlman, Battle Creek, Mich.; Matthew Ruhlman and Rebecca Ruhlman, both Transfer; Michelle Johnson, Mentor, Ohio; Elizabeth Pugh and her husband Jay, Sarasota; Julie Ruhlman, Philadelphia; Jeffrey Ruhlman and Christian Ruhlman; her stepgrandchildren, Ryan, Justin and Shayla; 12 great-grandchildren, eight stepgreat-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, Colleen was preceded in death by her parents; a son, E. Neil Ruhlman; brothers, James, Harry, Bill and Richard Parson; and sisters, Mary Corbin, Alice Stempin and Carol Sutch.
