Justin Tyler Griffin

GC teen was Little League all-star, active in church

---- — Funeral service is Wednesday for Justin Tyler Griffin of Grove City, who died at 11:16 a.m. Friday (8-17-12) in the emergency room of Grove City Medical Center, Pine Township, from injuries suffered in a vehicle-bicycle accident. He was 15.

Justin was born Aug. 14, 1997, in Grove City to Matthew E. Griffin and Susan D. Bonanni.

Justin attended Grove City Area Schools and was excited about starting the ninth grade.

He attended East Main Presbyterian Church, Grove City, where he was active in his faith and with several youth ministries trips. Most recently, he spent a week in Cincinnati with Youthworks, mentoring underprivileged kids.

Justin loved sports, formerly playing football and basketball, but his passion was baseball. For the past 10 years he played in the Grove City Little League program, many of those years being selected for the all-star team. He participated in taekwondo, earning his red belt, and enjoyed fishing with his grandfather and boating and camping with his family.

His family and friends were very important to him. Justin will be greatly missed by all.

He is survived by his mother, Susan Ray and her husband Brian; his father, Matthew E. Griffin and his wife Lisa, all Grove City; four sisters, Tiffany Riddle and her husband Michael; Brooke Griffin; McKenzie Ray; and Meagan Ray, all Grove City; his grandparents, Janet Bonanni Wood and her husband Sam; Vance N. Griffin and his wife, Gay, all Grove City; and Connie Thompson, Harrisville. Many aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, James R. Bonanni and Glenn Thompson.

Service: Funeral service at 11 a.m. Wednesday (8-22-12) in the church with the Rev. Bill Hoffman officiating.

Burial: Prairie Cemetery, Harrisville.
