Nancy M. Hightree of Lackawannock Township passed away peacefully Sunday evening, Jan. 27, 2013, with her family by her side, after a brief illness. She was 76.
Ms. Hightree was born Jan. 21, 1937, in Sharon, a daughter of Elmer R. Perschka Sr. and Faye E. Kress Perschka.
She retired from the former Mercer County Living Center, where she was employed for many years as a nurse’s aide.
She was of the Protestant faith and loved to bake. Nancy cherished her family, as they did her, and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
An avid flower gardener, she enjoyed helping out at her children’s greenhouse business.
Surviving are: a son, Jeff Kruck and his wife Patty, Grove City; two daughters, Patty DePreta and her companion Joel Giglio, Hubbard; and Karen Yanak and her husband Rich, Lackawannock Township; her companion, Jim Kirby, also Lackawannock Township; two brothers, Mike Perschka, Silver Creek, Neb.; and David Perschka, Sharon; six grandchildren, Dennis Swogger, Stephanie DePreta, Liz Kruck, Dan Kruck, Clayton Yanak and Brad Yanak; and four great-grandchildren.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; her former husbands, Joseph Kruck Jr. and Norman Hightree Sr.; and two brothers, Elmer R. Perschka Jr. and James Perschka.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made in her memory to The Family House, 5001 Baum Blvd., Suite 545, Pittsburgh, PA 15203.
