---- — WILLIAMSBURG, N.M. – Penny R. Winkler, a resident for the past 35 years of Sierra County, N.M., passed away Thursday, March 7, 2013, in her home in Williamsburg. She was 46.

Ms. Winkler was born July 20, 1966, in Jackson Center to Martin E. and Ruth M. Varner Winkler.

Penny attended Hot Springs High School in Truth or Consequences, N.M., and completed her degree through homeschooling, graduating in 1984.

She worked as a resort culinary and dietary cook.

Penny loved her dogs, horses and her fast sports cars.

She is survived by her only son, Levi G. Allen, Williamsburg; her sisters, Linda Dredla, Hyannis, Neb.; and Kim McGee, Grove City; and her brothers, Albert Lasch, Pueblo, Colo.; Glen Hovis, Tularosa, N.M.; and Larry Hovis and Martin Winkler, both Pennsylvania.
