CAMP HILL, Pa. – Margaret Gergely Spadin, formerly a Sharpsville resident, passed over on Friday, March 8, 2013. She was a resident of Camp Hill, Pa.
Margaret was born Dec. 1, 1935, in Sharpsville and was a daughter of James Emory and Margaret Gergely Gargo.
She graduated from Sharpsville High School in 1953, from Youngstown State University in 1957 and from Westminster College, New Wilmington, in 1963.
She was a school teacher for 25 years.
Margaret loved to read and write poems and short stories. She was a published author and a member of the Shenango Playhouse.
She took piano lessons for eight years from Mary A. Day.
During high school, she worked at the former Deneen’s Dairy Store in Sharon.
She enjoyed cooking and having company for dinner.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Wendy Spadin-Vickery.
She is survived by two sisters, Mary “Bessie” Vargo, Texas; and Dorothy McBride, Florida; two granddaughters, Veronica Vickery-Meek and Kristina Vickery, both Pennsylvania; a great-grandson, Ethan Meek; a son-in-law, Michael Vickery; and Veronica’s husband, Troy Meek.
