---- —
Margaret M. Roberts of Sharon, formerly of England, passed away Wednesday evening (2-1-12) in her residence with her family at her side. She was 91.
Mrs. Roberts was born July 26, 1920, in Dublin, Ireland, a daughter of Henry and Marion Murphy Phelan.
She moved as a young child to England, where she lived most of her life.
Her husband, Frank R. Roberts, whom she married July 26, 1941, passed away Sept. 23, 1984. She immigrated to the United States the following year to be with her family in Sharon.
Mrs. Roberts loved modern sequence dancing with her husband while living in England, and later in life enjoyed both square dancing and clogging.
She was a familiar face at what was formerly the F.H. Buhl Club, Sharon, where she had worked the front desk for many years, and her smile was infectious.
She was an accomplished seamstress who loved to sew.
Margaret was of the Catholic faith.
She leaves her daughter, Patricia M. Levitt and her husband Harvey, Sharon; and four grandchildren, Robert Levitt and his wife Michelle; Christopher Levitt and his wife Jennifer; Andrew Levitt and his wife Meredith; and Samantha Roberts. She also leaves her five great-grandchildren, Hannah, Aiden, Emma, Kate and Jake.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Harry Phelan; and her son, Christopher K. Roberts.
Her family suggests anyone wishing to make a memorial contribution in her memory to please consider Family Hospice and Palliative Care, 1965 Shenango Valley Freeway, Suite 2, Hermitage, PA 16148; or American Cancer Society, 3208 Suite B, Wilmington Road, New Castle, PA 16105.
