POLAND, Ohio — Minister Gerald L. Williams of Youngstown departed this life Tuesday morning (7-27-10) in Hospice House, Poland. He was 64.
Minister Williams was born Nov. 6, 1945, in Sharon, a son of Raymond Williams Sr. and Gladys H. Samuels Williams.
He attended Farrell schools and was a graduate of the former Nonnie’s Secretarial School.
By profession, he was an orderly for Woodside Receiving Hospital, Youngstown, and various nursing homes.
As an Apostolic minister, Minister Williams was a member of Calvary Freewill Holiness Church, VOICES (Voices Over Inter-city Crime Exchanging Solutions) and was founder of Men Cry, Too, all Youngstown.
An Army veteran, he served stateside during peacetime.
He was an outstanding teacher of youth Bible study, sharing his gifts and wisdom in his church as well as in the community.
Gerald was an avid chess player.
His wife, the former Crystal Womack, now Evangelist Crystal Williams, whom he married Oct. 5, 1979, survives at home.
He also leaves: his children, Tawanda Williams, Norfolk, Va.; Gerald L. Williams Jr., Petersburg, Va.; Lamona Williams, Sharon; Justin Dunlap, Sharpsville; Jermaine Wildrick, Camp Hill, Pa.; Vanessa Williams, Brooklyn, N.Y.; Stacey Kitchen, Akron, Ohio; Helen Womack and Jerome Kitchen, both Youngstown; his siblings, Raymond Williams Jr. and his wife Marilyn; his twin, the Rev. Geraldine Logan; and Loretta Bender, Evangelist Doris Fryson and Carol Jean Gregory, all Farrell; and Larry Williams and his wife Denise, Youngstown; 12 grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Minister Williams was preceded in death by his parents; a son, William Kitchen Jr.; two sisters, Pauline Jordan and Darlene Montague; and a brother, Frankie Williams.

Service: Funeral service at 11 a.m. Monday (8-2-10) in the funeral home.
