A funeral service will be held Monday for James S. “Sugar” Jones, a resident since 1985 of 247 Lunn Blvd., Farrell. He passed away at 4:34 a.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2013, in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. He was 91.
Mr. Jones was born June 1, 1921, in DeKalb, Miss., to Jim Jones and Mattie Rankin Jones.
He was educated in Mississippi schools and retired in 1984 from Wheatland Tube Co.
An Army veteran, Mr. Jones served during World War II.
As a member of Valley Baptist Church, Farrell, he belonged to the men’s choir and Sunday school.
His hobbies included travel with his godson, James Tatum.
His wife, the former Selma E. Glenn, whom he married April 23, 1946, passed away Feb. 24, 1996.
Surviving are: his daughters, Janie Jamison, Chicago; Anna Jones, Farrell; Juristine Keller and her husband Melvin, Chicago; and Lillie Cameron, Farrell; his sons, Alfred Glenn, Farrell; Randolph Jones and his wife Myrtle, Hermitage; Rudolph Jones and his wife Carol, Wheatland; James C. Jones, Diamond Bar, Calif.; Bob Glenn, Fontana, Calif.; and Percy Jones and his wife Mary, Milwaukee, Wis.; a granddaughter and grandson, whom he reared, Toya Hajduk and her husband Ray, Farrell; and Orlando Jones, Farrell; and 15 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and three sisters.

Interment: Morefield Cemetery, Hermitage.
