Amelia “Emily” Paulsen of St. Paul’s, West Salem Township, formerly of Sharpsville, passed away peacefully at 10:15 p.m. Thursday (3-14-13) in the home. She was 84.
Mrs. Paulsen was born June 29, 1929, in Sharpsville, a daughter of Joseph and Pasqualina Polidori Rossi.
She lived in Sharpsville most of her life and graduated from Sharpsville High School in 1947.
Emily worked as a secretary for the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp. It was there that she met the love of her life, Jack Paulsen. Emily and Jack were married in 1958. They had a wonderful life together with their three daughters until Jack passed away unexpectedly in 1991.
Emily spent most of her life as a housewife, mother and grandmother. She loved her family and adored her grandchildren, whom she spent many years babysitting.
Prior to her illness, she was an avid reader. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and was a fabulous cook and baker.
Emily was a lifelong member of St. Bartholomew’s Church, Sharpsville. She was a member of the St. Olivia Society in years past and volunteered her time at John XXIII Home, Hermitage.
She is survived by her three daughters, Karen Daverio and her husband Joe, Sharon; Kathy Palombi and her husband Nick; and Mary Arp and her husband Mark, all Hermitage; and four grandchildren, Zach, Caitlin, and Abby Lenhart; and Nick Arp.
Besides her loving husband, Jack, she was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Tony Rossi; and two sisters, Jennie Leonetti and Lena DeSantis.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Bartholomew’s Church, 311 W. Ridge Ave., Sharpsville, PA 16150.
