Clark R. ‘Dick’ Anderson Sr.

Cooper Energy retiree owned businesses

---- — Clark R. “Dick” Anderson Sr., a resident for 35 years of Findley Township, passed away at 5:22 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012, in Grove City Medical Center, Pine Township, after a two-year illness. He was 82.

Mr. Anderson was born Jan. 13, 1930, in Pittsburgh to William Howard Anderson and Florence W. Lundell Anderson.

Originally, Mr. Anderson was in the mink business. He was later employed by Cooper Energy Services, Grove City, and, while working there, opened Anderson’s Beer Distributor on West Main Street in Grove City in the early 1980s.

Upon retiring at Cooper Energy, he relocated the beer distributor to Pine Township and operated it until 1997, when he sold the business, now known as Brewmeister Distributors. Following the beer distributing business, he was employed by Harmony Castings in Zelienople. During that time, he also built and operated Anderson’s Storage Units behind the beer distributor located at Irishtown Road and Route 58 in Pine Township.

During his later years, he worked at Adesa Auto Auction in Jackson Center until the last few months of his life.

He was of the Protestant faith.

Mr. Anderson served in the Army in medics during the Korean conflict from 1952-54.

He was a member of Free and Accepted Masons Blue Lodge 286 and Royal Arch Lodge, both Bellevue, Pa. He enjoyed racing go-carts and sprint cars along with his son, Rick, at different race tracks.

His wife, the former Helen Wine, whom he married Jan. 21, 1950, survives at home.

Also surviving are: a son, Rick Anderson and his wife Terra, Mercer; two grandsons, Clark R. Anderson III and Brandon L. Anderson, both Mercer; two sisters, Edith Fuechslin, Chester, Va.; and Leona Jane Ringeisen, Allison Park, Pa.; and a brother, George E. Anderson and his wife Marie, Sebring, Fla.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Madeline E. “Maddie” Anderson; and a brother, William H. Anderson.
