Margaret Eleanor “Marnie” McLaughlin of Countryside Convalescent Home, East Lackawannock Township, formerly of Stewart Avenue, Grove City, from 1950 to 2010, passed away at 3:15 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012, in Grove City Medical Center, Pine Township, after a brief illness. She was 92.
Mrs. McLaughlin was born Dec. 30, 1919, in Scrubgrass Township, Venango County, to William Wesley Kingsley and Clara Louella Morrison Kingsley.
She retired in 1984 from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania, where she was a secretary in the education department; she formerly was a secretary for the junior high principal of Grove City Area School District.
Margaret was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church, Grove City.
Her husband, Milford Warren McLaughlin, whom she married Dec. 30, 1941, passed away Feb. 7, 1968.
Surviving are two children, John W. McLaughlin and his wife Debra, Coudersport, Pa.; and Kathy M. Brooke and her husband David, Natrona Heights, Pa.; six grandchildren, Christy Robinson, Lara Swenson, Kieran Brooke, Christopher Brooke, Joseph Ostroski Jr. and Tadd Ostroski; and seven great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Phyllis McNany, Marion Collar, Leah McNany and an infant, Eve Lenore Kingsley; and a brother, John M. Kingsley.
