DELAWARE TOWNSHIP —
A 20-year-old New Castle man was killed in a car crash Saturday on state Route 58 in Delaware Township, state police said.
William G. Trgovic, formerly of Jamestown, died when the car he was a passenger in spun out of control, went off the road and crashed into an apple tree, uprooting it, at about 7 a.m., police said.
The driver, Casey S. Wilkins, 18, Grove City, was injured in the wreck and taken to St. Elizabeth Health System, Youngstown. His condition was not available Sunday. Neither man was wearing a seat belt, police said.
Police said Wilkins’ car was speeding south on state Route 58 and had just passed another car when it spun out of control, went off the west side of the road and through a yard before the passenger side hit the tree.
The car kept moving for another 75 feet before it rolled over on its roof, according to police, who are still investigating.
Trgovic was the father of two and a student at New Castle School of Trades, according to obituary information.
