MERCER — A Mercer man is accused by Mercer police of beating up a woman and trashing her apartment early Christmas Eve morning.
John William Grimes, 32, of 146 E. Market St., Apartment C., Mercer, is charged with aggravated and simple assault, reckless endangering, criminal mischief, and harassment.
The woman told police Grimes was drunk and trashing her apartment and when she confronted him he started pushing her. Police said Grimes threw her into a wall and knocked her out.
When she woke up, she went to the hospital where she was treated for a three inch cut in the back of her head and police were called.
Police found Grimes at the woman’s trahed home, unconscious and laying in a closet. Police said he was very drunk and resisted arrest.
