UPDATE: Police investigate multiple robberies

SHENANGO VALLEY — Robbers held up three store clerks and a pizza delivery driver in the Shenango Valley Sunday night and Monday morning, police said.

Police in Brookfield, Farrell, Hermitage and Sharon reported armed robberies or attempts. No one has been charged in the crimes.

“Are they related? We’re looking into that possibility,” Sharon police Chief Mike Menster said. “We’re still comparing notes with other departments.”

ä Someone about 8:30 p.m. Sunday robbed a clerk at Ron’s Market in the 300 block of New Castle Avenue, Sharon police said.

A man went into the store, pulled out a black, semi-automatic handgun, pointed it at the clerk and demanded money, police said.

The robber reached across the counter and took an undisclosed amount of cash before running out of the store and heading south, police said.

A customer was in the store at the time of the robbery. No one was hurt, police said.

The robber was described as a black male between 22 and 28 years old, about 6 feet tall with a medium build and a dark complexion, police said. He was wearing a dark gray sweatshirt, a black baseball cap and black jeans, police said.

ä At about 10:15 p.m. Sunday, two men stopped a pizza delivery driver in the 1500 block of Parke Drive, Hermitage, and one displayed a handgun and demanded money, Hermitage police said.

The driver gave it to them, then the men also stole several bags of food and ran, police said.

The robbers were described as teenagers, black males of medium height and thin builds wearing dark clothes and black masks, police said.

ä At 8:45 a.m. Monday, a man walked into the Stateline Market on Superior Street in Brookfield, showed the owner a gun in his waistband and demanded cash, Brookfield police said.

The owner pulled a weapon of his own on the robber, who made a “hasty retreat,” police Chief Dan Faustino said.

Police described the would-be robber as a black male, about 5 feet, 8 inches tall and 180 pounds wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, sunglasses, blue jeans and white sneakers.

Faustino said there is video footage of the attempted robbery.

ä The Citiline market at Fruit Avenue and George Street in Farrell was robbed about 9 a.m. Monday, Southwest Mercer County Regional police said.

Police said a black male, between 5 feet 8 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall, brandished a silver handgun robbed the store and ran away.

Police didn’t know what he stole.
