Crash claims teen on bike

GROVE CITY — Justin T. Griffin of Grove City, who turned 15 on Tuesday, was killed Friday morning after his bicycle collided with a pickup at North Broad and Chestnut streets in Grove City.

Police on Friday did not release the name of the 46-year-old man from the Grove City area who was driving the truck.

The crash happened at 11:16 a.m., said police, who did not disclose details of the crash.

Jason Greggs, who works at the True Convenience store at North Broad and Chestnut, didn’t see the accident happen but said the aftermath was awful to watch.

“It’s the worst thing I’ve ever seen in my life,” he said.

The intersection can be dangerous at times, Greggs said, adding that part of the street was closed to traffic until about 2 p.m.

“People come flying through my parking lot because they don’t want to wait for the light,” he said.
