A HERALD SPECIAL REPORT — The local cost of the war in Iraq was six men’s lives. They were sons, husbands and fathers who served their country with distinction.
The six -- Sgt. Michael A. Marzano, Spc. Douglas E. Kashmer, Sgt. Shawn A. Graham, Lt. Col. Michael E. McLaughlin, Staff Sgt. David M. Veverka and Sgt. 1st Class Daniel A. Brozovich -- are on the honor roll of at least 4,415 Americans killed. Their memories have been honored, but their families must cope with their personal losses in different ways.
