HERMITAGE — An artificial surface manufacturer began installing the turf in Hornet Stadium Wednesday as the project proceeds on schedule.

The pace of donations for the project also is as Hermitage school officials had hoped, topping $100,000 toward a $150,000 goal.

Officials want the project to be completed in time for an Aug. 20 football scrimmage, although a contingency plan is in place if that doesn’t work out.
