HUBBARD TOWNSHIP — A Hermitage man is dead after a head-on collision on Interstate 80 in Hubbard Township early Sunday morning, police said.
Leroy Ganzy II, 44, was driving a Dodge sedan the wrong way on the westbound lane of Interstate 80 and hit a tractor trailer head-on, Ohio State Highway Patrol said.
Ganzy was pronounced dead at the scene, they said.
The crash occurred around 1:30 a.m. near the interchange with state Route 7 and U.S. Route 62, police said.
The driver of the truck, Raymond Hesse, 44, of Curwensville, Pa., and a passenger who police did not identify were not injured.
A police spokesperson said the crash is still being investigated.
