Woman’s home burglarized for eighth time
BROOKFIELD — An 82-year-old woman reported her home in the 7300 block of Brookwood Drive was broken into for the third time this year and the eighth time over the last seven years at 12:50 a.m. Tuesday, police said.
Faustino said police are investigating links between the burglaries over the years and is asking anyone with information to contact police at 330-448-6960.
Hearing in break-in, shooting case is off
GREENVILLE — The preliminary hearing set for today for the Hempfield Township man who was shot when police said he broke into the home where his estranged wife was living has been continued.
The hearing for David E. Keck, 46, of 11 Waugh Ave., is now set for 1:45 p.m. Sept. 8 before District Judge Brian Arthur, Greenville. Keck’s attorney, Randall Hetrick, had a scheduling conflict, the judge’s staff said Tuesday.
Woman pleads not guilty to immigration charge
BROOKFIELD — The daughter of a man accused of running a marijuana distribution center in Masury pleaded not guilty Monday to a federal immigration violation.
Celina Cordova-Ornelas, 35, of Mexico, was charged Aug. 18 with reentry of a removed alien.
U.S. District Court Judge Patricia A. Gaughan, Cleveland, set a Friday deadline for pretrial motions, and trial for Sept. 28.
The house was used as a pot warehouse for the drug to be sold in the Shenango Valley, police said.
Cordova is in Trumbull County Jail awaiting indictment by a Trumbull County grand jury.
