UPDATE: Write-in candidates are winners

MERCER COUNTY — After a tally of write-in votes from the May 19 election, a number of candidates will see their names on the ballot in the fall.

Mercer County elections chief Jeff Greenburg said the write-in votes were approved in a Tuesday meeting. Results of the election will remain unofficial until after the first and second signing of the books today and June 10.

Greenburg has said the write-in winners will not displace any of the previously announced results.

The write-in winners for Democratic nominations are:

• James Carucci, Clark council, 11 votes.

• Paula J. Emery, Clark judge of elections, 17 votes.

• Lori M. McKnight, Clark inspector of elections, 11 votes.

• Matthew Hackett, Coolspring Township supervisor, 52 votes.

• Helene Kuhn, Hermitage NE-1 inspector of elections, 7 votes.

• Robert Pizor, Jackson Township supervisor, 27 votes.

• Richard Schuller, Lackawannock Township supervisor, 64 votes.

• Charles N. Larish III, two-year Liberty Township supervisor, 25 votes.

• George P. Gerhardt, Mercer Area School Director representing Mercer, 13 votes.

• George Elliott, Pine Township supervisor, 37 votes.

• Beverly Scurpa, Sharpsville Area School Director, 97 votes.

• Carol Budanka, Shenango Township supervisor, 70 votes.

• George Spon, South Pymatuning Township 3 inspector of elections, 5 votes.

• Cathy Dubrasky, West Middlesex council, 28 votes.

• George Ashby, Wheatland council, 14 votes.

• Christopher J. Engelsiepen, Wilmington Township supervisor, 18 votes.

The Republican write-in winners are:

• Debra Rodemoyer, Delaware Township tax collector, 26 votes.

• Marjorie C. Smith, Greene Township inspector of elections, 6 votes.

• Peter A. Candela, Greenville mayor, 12 votes.

• Gayle Cranford, Hermitage SW-3 inspector of elections, 8 votes.

• Charles N. Larish III, two-year Liberty Township supervisor, 57 votes.

• Rodney A. Heckman, Mercer council, 15 votes.

• Jeanne E. Bacon, Mercer School Director representing Coolspring and Findley townships, 23 votes.

• George P. Gerhardt, Mercer School Director representing Mercer, 17 votes.

• Harry Zahniser, Pymatuning Township tax collector, 20 votes.
