3 people facing charges after bar fight, police say

SOUTH PYMATUNING TOWNSHIP — Three people face charges after a fight Dec. 6 at the Grog House in South Pymatuning Township, police said.

Stephan J. Sagenich Jr., 32, and Tamara L. Woodward, 39, both of 1304 Brentwood Drive, Pymatuning Township, were picked up on warrants at 2:18 a.m. Sunday at Edgewood Drive and Brentwood Drive, Pymatuning Township police said.

Another man, Robert Brady, 30, of Burghill, was picked up on warrants for aggravated assault, simple assault and reckless endangerment, on Saturday night by Hartford Township police, South Pymatuning police said.

Sagenich was wanted by South Pymatuning police for simple assault, reckless endangerment and flight to avoid apprehension and Ms. Woodward’s warrants were for hindering apprehension and making false reports.

According to court documents, Sagenich and Brady are accused of punching and kicking James Lundquest about 1:30 a.m. at the bar at 5590 Orangeville Road.

Lundquest had bruises on his right eye, cheek, nose and right rib, a bump on his head, cuts on his knees and bruising on his left tricep, court documents said.

A witness told police that Sagenich didn’t stop hitting Lundquest even as he was being dragged out of the bar by someone else.

After the beating Sagenich and Brady left the bar, court documents said.

The night of the assault, Ms. Woodward, a co-owner of the bar, told police that Lundquest and another man were fighting and that the victim made up the story to incriminate Brady, court documents said.

Other witnesses told police Ms. Woodward saw both Sagenich and Brady hit Lundquest and that she told Sagenich — who last month pleaded guilty to simple assault for beating another owner of the bar, Chris Woodward, Ms. Woodward’s estranged husband, in October — to run before police arrived.

Brady returned to the bar five minutes after police left looking for a ride home, witnesses told police according to court documents.

Sagenich was taken to Mercer County Jail after failing to post bond and Ms. Woodward was released on personal recognizance bond, court documents said.

They are both scheduled for preliminary hearings Monday before District Judge William L. Fagley.

Brady was taken to Trumbull County Jail to await extradition, South Pymatuning police said.
