Ohio man charged with assaulting police at Brookfield truck night

BROOKFIELD — A fight on Friday at Fireball Truck Night led to a man shoving and cursing at three Brookfield patrolmen, police said.

Oscar Galascock, 23, Newberry, Ohio, was charged at about 10:45 p.m. with assault after yelling at and pushing the patrolmen in the 600 block of Collar Price Road, police said.

A fight began brewing minutes before among a group of about 30 people as patrolmen Gwen Graham, Roy Anne Rudolph and David Addicott worked to calm the crowd, police said.

A few men in the group swore at Addicott and continued to taunt one another while Rudolph tried to control another man who was screaming obscenities, police said.

Galascock then turned toward Addicott and began yelling and swearing at him, police said.

“I don’t care what you say, I come here every week and I’ll take care of this,” police said Galascock told them.

Galascock then shoved Addicott in the chest and continued to yell before police threatened to electronically shoot him, they said.

Police told Galascock, who was also charged with disorderly conduct, if he ever returns to another truck night he would be charged with criminal trespassing.

Galascock was released pending a Thursday appearance before Judge Ronald Rice at Eastern District Court, Brookfield.
