District court phone calls may take several tries
WORTH TOWNSHIP — If you need to get someone in District Judge Lawrence T. Silvis’s Worth Township office on the line, be prepared to work at it for a little while.
Because of occasional problems with the office’s 814-area code phone numbers, callers may need to call several times in order to get through, said a district court spokeswoman reading from a memo.
The glitches are usually temporary, said Court Administrator Peter A. Morin. So far they’ve caused no problems.
Some in-house phone lines — Silvis’s courthouse extension numbers — are also down since the tower outside his office was torn down and moved to the site of his new office on Barkeyville Road, Pine Township. The move to Silvis’s new office will probably be completed July 18, Morin said.
The 814-area code troubles are a separate issue.
“We’ve had trouble with his phone system out there, it has not been unusual,” Morin said, adding that the problem will be fixed on the phone company’s timetable.
Those who need to get in touch with the district court should call 814-786-7918.

Police were called around 9 a.m. about a fight in front of Davis’ home, where he shot plastic BBs at the man. No one was hurt, Menster said
