GREENVILLE — Charges against a Greenville man accused of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old Greenville girl Dec. 15 in an alley have been held to court.
Timothy R. Norris, 20, of 82 1/2 S. Second St., was charged by Greenville-West Salem Township police with statutory sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a person less than 16 years of age, indecent assault of a person less than 16 years of age and indecent exposure.
All charges were held to the Mercer County Court of Common Pleas during Norris’ preliminary hearing Thursday with District Judge William L. Fagley, Greenville. Norris was released after posting bond.
According to the police affidavit:
A Greenville woman called police Dec. 16 to report her 14-year-old daughter performed oral sex on a 20-year-old man named Tim she met Dec. 15 at a business in the 200 block of Main Street, Greenville.
The girl told police Norris introduced himself to her that evening and she told him she was 15 years old. She later went outside to Talisman Way, an alley behind the business, where Norris approached her and told her to perform oral sex on him.
The girl told police she was supposed to meet Norris Dec. 16 at a Greenville restaurant. Police had the girl call Norris from a cell phone using the speaker feature to meet elsewhere.
Norris suggested they meet at a tavern on Ohl Street, Greenville. A patrolman listening to the call recognized Norris’ voice and went to the tavern, where he identified Norris.
Norris was interviewed at the police station and admitted to the girl’s accusations. He said he thought she was 15 or 16 years old and he knew only her first name.
