SHARPSVILLE —
An unemployed worker from Sharpsville who said he’s still in shock was the lucky winner in last week’s record $1.5 million Cash 5 lottery ticket.
Robert Grexa correctly matched all five numbers drawn, 17-22-30-35-42 last Tuesday to snag the single-largest prize since the game’s inception in 1992, Pennsylvania Lottery officials said. The prize, worth $1,538,987, doesn’t include the 25 percent federal withholding tax that will be taken out which amounts to a little under $385,000.
The 61-year-old said picking the winning number couldn’t have come at a better time as he lost his job in May due to a reorganization at a local mill he declined to identify. He’s asking people to respect his privacy.
