GREENVILLE —
A Greenville man admitted to having drugs and bomb-making material in his home last fall.
Joshua B. Miller, 24, of Greenville, pleaded guilty recently to attempted unlawful possession or manufacturing of weapons of mass destruction and one count of possession with intent to deliver 1.5 grams of heroin.
Members of the Mercer County Drug Task Force on Sept. 26, 2011, searched Miller’s home in the 100 block of Clarksville Street.
They found a marijuana plant, 7.2 ounces of marijuana, 1.5 grams of heroin, four Ativan pills, $1,128 cash and plastic bags and a scale to distribute the drugs.
In addition, police found items used to make a bomb including two bags of gun powder, several packs of fire crackers, three batteries, two switch devices and various wiring. The Allegheny County Police Bomb Squad was called in to deal with the potential explosives.
Police also found a shotgun, a stun gun and two switchblades.
The weapons charge is a second-degree felony that could carry a 5 to 10 year prison sentence and up to a $25,000 fine and the drug charge is an ungraded felony.
Miller had also been charged with two additional counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and one count each of unlawful possession of weapons of mass destruction and possession of a controlled substance
Prosecutors agreed not to pursue those charges as part of the plea bargain.
Court records do not list a sentencing date for Miller, who is free on his own recognizance.
